Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Pledr's Legal MCP service ("Service"). By signing in and using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Legal MCP is a legal research tool, not a substitute for legal advice. AI-generated summaries may contain inaccuracies. Always verify results against the official source judgment before relying on them in any legal work.

1. What the Service does

Legal MCP connects your AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to a search index of Supreme Court of India judgments. It returns matched paragraphs, citations, source links, and AI-generated summaries. It does not draft legal documents, provide legal advice, or represent that any result is complete or exhaustive.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must sign in with a valid Google account or email address to use the Service. You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under it. You must provide accurate information when signing in.

3. Free access and usage limits

The Service is currently free during early access. We may apply daily usage limits (e.g. a maximum number of searches per day) to ensure fair access for all users. Usage-based or subscription pricing may be introduced in the future; we will provide notice before any such change takes effect for existing users, and no fabricated or placeholder pricing will be shown before it is finalized.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use automated means to scrape, bulk-extract, or systematically download content from the Service beyond normal interactive use
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits, authentication, or rate limiting
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or its underlying data as your own product
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it

5. No legal advice; your responsibility to verify

The Service is a research aid. AI-generated summaries (issue/held/ratio) are produced automatically and may be incomplete, out of context, or inaccurate. You are solely responsible for verifying every citation, quotation, and summary against the official judgment before relying on it in any filing, advice, or professional work. Pledr is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or attorney-client representation of any kind.

6. Intellectual property

The judgments, citations, and case metadata returned by the Service are public-domain records of the Supreme Court of India. The Pledr software, branding, search technology, and AI-generated summaries are owned by Pledr or its licensors. You may use search results for your own legal work but may not represent Pledr's AI-generated summaries as official court text.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that search results will be complete or current as of any particular date.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pledr and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or professional opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — including reliance on any AI-generated summary without independent verification.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, including for violation of these Terms or suspected abuse. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting us.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
